THE FORMATION

During their stay in the seminary, seminarians are trained according to particular attention to the human, spiritual, intellectual, and missionary aspect, rooted in local traditions and culture but open to the needs of the mission and the universal Church.

HUMAN FORMATION

The human aspect is realized in the seminary community with a life marked by sincere and fraternal relations between seminarians and formators. The foundation of this formation is the attendance of the Neocatechumenal Way in the local communities, which also allows seminarians to get in touch with the reality of the place, to identify with the problems of families and young people in the place.

The Seminary also involves them in the responsibilities of community life, with the need to prepare the liturgies, to take care of the kitchen, and to provide for the cleanliness and appearance of the various environments.

SPIRITUAL FORMATION

It takes as a point of reference the charism of the Neocatechumenal Way, where through listening to the Word of God, the Eucharist, and community life you receive an initiation into the Christian life. In the seminary, participants take part in the daily celebration of the Eucharist, celebrated in both the Byzantine and Latin rites, and the prayer of the breviary. Every week, moreover, we live together a moment of "scrutiny" of the Word, during which we learn to have personal contact with Sacred Scripture, and an hour of personal and silent nocturnal adoration, during which we pray especially for the benefactors of the seminary.

INTELLECTUAL TRAINING

It is realized through the studies of philosophy and theology carried out at the Theological Academy "Blessed Teodor Romzha" in Uzhgorod. In addition to the course of study provided by the ratio studiorum for training, it takes part in special courses of deepening and specialization accompanied by a work of continuous personal training.

The rich Eastern tradition of the Church, in Her liturgy, in the texts of the Fathers, in singing, in history that becomes a teacher of life, is also the subject of special study.

PARTICIPATION IN MISSIONARY ACTIVITY

It is expressed in experiences both as members of the evangelization team during the entire stay in the seminary, and above all through a practice of itinerancy of some years, during which studies are interrupted to come in close contact with various mission realities in Ukraine and various parts of the world.

PRIESTS AND PERMANENT FORMATION

The preparation obtained in the seminary continues even after priestly ordination. Although priests find themselves occupying different roles as priests sent by the Diocesan Bishop, priests continue a permanent formation with the seminary as the center.

This is achieved with regular weekly meetings with the rector to scrutinize the Word of God, live the Eucharist together, or even just tell their experience, ask for advice, present their doubts.

Faithful to the apostolic model, according to which Jesus himself sent his apostles and then gathered them together and sent them again, the Church takes care of its ministers through continuous support, in a relationship of trust and sincerity that helps to overcome even the most difficult moments and to share the joys of the priestly life.
